Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Injury
A torn ACL is a common sports injury. Most ACL tears are caused by twisting of the knee or a traumatic blow to the outside of the knee joint. Women are more prone to ACL injuries.
Symptoms
- A loud pop in the knee at the time of injury
- Swelling of the knee immediately after sustaining the injury
- Restriction of movement in the knee joint
- Extensive amounts of pain after the injury occurs

- Physical rehabilitation program
- Reconstructive surgery
